Linx Condo

This development challenges the notion of how urban living can be achieved in a growing city. Profiting from a highly connected location, Linx creates a home that explores the potential of burgeoning communities with a graceful visual expression.

Throughout the detailed design and approval process, the project evolved as deliberate changes were made, leading to the ultimate June 26, 2019, LPAT decision that approved the final design. As the Greater Toronto Area expands at an unprecedented rate, opportunities to challenge the traditional land-use of significant intersections, while enhancing communities through added density are required.

The facade details and the colour palette of the building design have been carefully explored and developed with a unifying theme of layered discovery. Visual breaks provide a comfortable relationship and stately presence to the proposed building within its neighborhood. Linx creates a synergy between the heritage building on the site and the sightlines and scale of the greater streetscape. This layering uses materiality to create horizonal breaks and blocks within the built-form, which are appropriately sized to compliment the immediate surroundings.
