415 Eastern Avenue (Avenue Road Furniture)

Turner Fleischer, working closely with Yabu Pushelberg, transformed this two-hundred-year-old heritage building into an exclusive showroom for high end retailer Avenue Road. Creating a statement space to highlight their furniture and product designs, as well as a welcoming environment to consult with clients. The restoration and re-purposing of the existing building and the new dynamic interior seamlessly complement one another.

A historically significant property, the project had to meet the needs and requirements presented by Heritage Preservation Services and other City of Toronto guidelines. This interesting challenge to blend municipal design mandates with the client’s vision and needs was ultimately successful, and enhanced the unique nature of this building. Incorporating and respecting the historic attributes was achieved by Turner Fleischer’s project team and the commitment shown throughout the design and construction process.
